Many physicists today postulate the existence of multiple universes, even when sober. We used to live in a world of infinite possibilities. Now we live in an infinite number of worlds. India shines. Democracy thrives. The economy booms. A hundred flyovers bloom. This is not that India. If you see your picture here one day, don’t worry. That’s not you.

A pome for Mahi

Nobody can kill me
Nobody at all
Not the goons who roam the streets
Not the men behind the walls
Not the men who dig the holes
Not the men who miss the calls

Not the men who starve the children
Not the men who steal the schools
Not the men who wear the uniforms
And laugh, and break the rules

Not the men who pass the orders
But have no eyes to see
Not the men who sit in offices
And say, “Oh let it be”
Not the men who bow to Delhi
And ignore my mother’s plea
Not the men who keep our wages
In banks across the sea

Nobody can kill me
Nobody at all
And one bright day
Not far away
We’re coming for you all

(I thought I could make crude and tasteless fun of anything, but not this. Not this.)
